Making the Season Brighter

It’s that time of year again! And as expected, our Girl Scouts are out in droves making the season a little brighter for people in their communities.

Thanks to everyone who sent these pictures and stories. Keep them coming! I would love to feature more of the caring things Girl Scouts are up to!

Yours in Girl Scouting,
Erin

Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts from Watson Elementary in Hastings, NE gathered together to sing Christmas Carols for the residents of College View Assisted Living in Hastings.  After they were done singing, they shared cookies and hot cocoa with the residents. BTW, cookies were provided by the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts and their families.

Adriana, a Daisy from Troop 01477, was eager to serve cookies to the residents after the performance!

The residents were treated to angelic tunes sung by their special guests.

This week, Brownie Troop 42425 from LaVista collected gifts for the Salvation Army Angel Tree Toy Drive.  They delivered the toys (pictured above) to the Salvation Army last week.

Next week, they will be singing Christmas Carols at the Granville Assisted Living facility in LaVista as a joint project with the 4th grade Juniors at their school (Troop #44403) and sharing Gingerbread ornaments (pictured above) and cookies with the residents.

And finally, here is Junior Troop 10278 with handmade Christmas cards they made for soldiers abroad. They had a great time making them and sharing stories of people they each know and love serving our great country both stateside and overseas.
