Power Up Your Green!
The second annual Green Power Bike Festival was held on Sunday, October 7 – and boy, was it cold that day. However, that didn’t stop 158 girls, leaders, parents, siblings and volunteers from showing up to make the day GREEN! Girls made bike-powered smoothies, barrel raced in a bike rodeo, learned about bike safety and maintenance and, to top off the event, went on a group ride on the Keystone trail! The event was held at Stinson Park at Aksarben Village and what a perfect way to spend a spend a “green” Sunday – hit up the Aksarben Farmer’s Market in the morning and then go to the Green Powered Bike Festival in the afternoon!
For more fun “green” events and programs, check out: Earth Day Celebration!, Earth Patrol, Ready Set Grow!, Naturalist Badge Workshop and Wilderness Adventure in the 2012-2013 program book or on our online calendar! Take the Girl Scout Journey and go “green.” It’s more awesome now than ever! :)
