Horse Camp Session 2

Date: Sunday, July 21- Saturday, July 27

Location: Lakeview Cabin, North Platte

Arrival/Departure Times: 7 p.m. – 10 a.m.

Grade Level: 4-12

Girls start their day with horseback riding activities where each girl will be assigned a horse depending upon her skill level. They will learn how to work horses from the ground in addition to hands-on riding instruction each day. Participants complete a workbook emphasizing feeding and nutrition, breeds of horses, colors and markings, parts of the horse, equipment and care of tack. Mornings focus on arena work, afternoons will be camp activities and evening will be trail riding. Adult volunteers are needed to help with workshops to transport girls to and from the riding stable and to spend the nights in the cabin with the girls. There is no charge for adult volunteers.
