World Thinking Day… Every Day!

As many of you may already know, Girl Scouts celebrates World Thinking Day worldwide every year on February 22. It’s a day for girls to participate in and learn about their Girl Scout sisters around the world. It’s also a way to honor all the different countries and cultures that are represented globally in Girl Scouts. As I reflected on the holiday this year, I realized something very special about a troop that I work with every week. Troop 84233 is one of the most diverse groups with which I have ever worked. For this troop, every day is World Thinking Day – literally!

We have girls from all over the world that speak many different languages. It is literally World Thinking Day re-enacted at every troop meeting! We celebrate each other’s differences while simultaneously valuing the exact same philosophies – those taught by the Girl Scout Promise and Law. That is the beauty of what we do in Girl Scouting; bringing girls and young women together – from all walks of life – and building relationships and community through the programs that we offer.

Here are a few pictures from our last meeting. We are a group troop and are working on the Junior Practice with Purpose badge, Brownie Fair Play badge and the Honest and Fair petal for the Daisies.
