Etiquette and Social Manners Classes
Courteous Kids provides the FUN in the fundamentals of etiquette and manners for children 5-19 years of age.
This interactive program includes tea parties, games, role-playing, designing and writing party invitations, table setting decorating, dining, and more – all while learning proper social etiquette.
Classes are custom designed to fit the goals of the troop and can include formal dinners at local restaurants. Prices at restaurant locations will differ from troop-location program prices.
Who: Daisies, Brownies, Juniors
When: Call to schedule for late afternoon or evening sessions.
Where: At your troop location.
Cost: $7 per girl includes one and a half hour program with snack food and materials provided. Troops pay at the time of the program.
Recognitions: Depending upon the workshop chosen, girls may complete requirements towards social skills related badges.
Notes: Dates fill in fast. It’s best to schedule one to two months ahead, especially before cookie sales and Father/Daughter Dances.
Art of Entertaining
This special eight-week session is available two times per year and exclusively to Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors. Partnering with Arts for All Inc., this program includes social etiquette and dance instruction, table settings and centerpieces, and culminates with a dance open to the entire Girl Scout community. Call for detailed outline.
Who: Cadettes, Seniors, Ambassadors
When: First eight week session to begin in September/October with a holiday-themed dance in November or December. Second eight-week session to start in January/February with a springtime theme dance in April/May.
Where: Teaching portion at your troop location. The dance location will be determined as the girls plan the event and consider their budget.
Cost: $75/girl for the eight week session which includes all instructions, hand-outs, snacks but does not include costs associated with the final event-those costs will depend upon the budget which the girls will prepare as part of the eight week session.
Capacity: Minimum 10 girls, Maximum 25 girls.
