The Heart of Sewing is dedicated to creativity through sewing.
Sewing Workshops
This workshop will help you learn skills necessary to complete a sewing project. Pick one of the projects listed below or work with teacher for other projects.
Pillowcase $12 per student – includes all supplies
Purse $10 per student – includes all supplies
Seasonal Project $10 per student – includes all supplies
Pillow $10 per student – includes all supplies
Gift for Mom: This class will be all hand stitching. There will be different applique cut-outs that the girls can pick from to made a customized present for Mom. The appliques will be ironed onto a kitchen towel and than the girls will hand stitch around the edges to secure the applique. Great project for Christmas or Mother’s Day. $10.00 fee includes all supplies.
Recycle Baby Quilt $65 per troop (Each scout would bring a cotton article that would be cut up and stitched into a quilt. We would stitch the top together. It will be quilted and the quilt can be denoted to troop’s choice of charity.) This project could work toward a recycle or donation badge.
Who: Brownies, Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors & Ambassadors
When: Date and time scheduled at your convenience. Class will run approx. 2 hours.
Where: In the Omaha area, the teacher will come to your regular meeting location. Outside of the Omaha area, call to discuss location options.
Cost: See above for costs for each project. Cost includes materials and varies according to project selected to make.
Capacity: Minimum 6, no maximum as long as there are enough adult helpers.
Register: Call 402.215.1039 and ask for Sheila. You will register the number of students to attend. You will pay the class fee times the number of students you reserve space for.
Chaperones: One adult for every five girls is needed. It’s nice to have the adults there to help the girls when they need just a little extra help.
Refunds: You must cancel two days in advance to get a full refund. If school is cancelled because of bad weather, we will not hold the class that day and you can call to reschedule.
Recognitions: Work toward earning sewing-related Brownie-Try-Its, Junior Badges, Cadette, Senior & Ambassador Interest Projects. Some classes may also help them work toward community service badges.
