Hidden Acres Art School

hiddenacres

Hidden Acres Art School, located on a beautiful acreage outside of Omaha, offers a fun and challenging program designed to educate Girl Scouts in the Fine Arts. The scouts have the opportunity to create their own piece of pottery on the pottery wheel or they can choose to sculpt or paint a one of a kind keepsake. From making beautiful silk paintings to creating their own pieces of pottery, the results have thrilled both the Girl Scouts and their leaders! This is an outing that will be remembered forever!

In addition to the rewarding opportunity to produce an outstanding piece of artwork, Hidden Acres offers additional fun filled options for the troops. Have a hot dog roast and/or s’mores over an open fire, or have a ride on a trailer pulled behind a four wheeler through the forest.

Throw Your Own Piece of Pottery on the Pottery Wheel!

The scouts not only create their own piece of pottery on the pottery wheel but they will also paint and glaze their masterpiece with food safe professional glazes.

Cost: $35 per scout for a two session workshop

Simple Beautiful Sculpture!

Pastel Painting

This is a one session project that will take two hours to complete for scouts grade 1 through 6. Three hours is recommend in order for older scouts to create a masterpiece

Cost: $20 for two hour session and $30 for three hour session.

Silk Painting

This is a gorgeous two-and-a-half-hour project that glows with color. The scouts work on silk material first using a resist to draw their design. Then they watch with fascination as the colors flow over the material. The silks will be steamed and will be ready for pick up a week later. These silks can be framed and look as beautiful as stained glass hanging in the window! Works best if done in two sessions, but can be done in one.

Cost: $35 per scout
