Storm Drain Awarness
Your troop can ensure that Omaha’s water quality is safe and protect wildlife by placing colorful disks on your neighborhood storm drains to remind neighbors not to throw paint and other wastes down storm drains. It’s easy and Keep Omaha Beautiful, Inc. will provide all materials needed. Plus $50 for your treasury if you place 100 discs.

Where: Your own neighborhood or elsewhere

Trail Cleanup
Keep Omaha Beautiful, Inc. will provide $50 to any Girl Scout troop willing to pick up two miles or more of litter from any of the beautiful trails within the City of Omaha or dam-sites in our area. This program runs April through October. This is a one-time program per troop.

When: April through October

Helping Hands
Keep Omaha Beautiful, Inc., is sponsoring a project to help elderly and disabled citizens with a one-time leaf raking/yard cleanup. Just call 402.444.7774. Keep Omaha Beautiful, Inc. will partner your troop with a friend to help. Keep Omaha Beautiful, Inc. will provide bags and equipment for the cleanup if needed.
Who: Brownies, Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors, Ambassadors
When: Spring and Fall (April, May June, October and November)
Where: Call Kay for the name of a elderly or disabled citizen.
Cost: Free

Recognitions: Brownie Try-It – Brownies can work towards Caring and Sharing and Her Story Try-It; Juniors can work towards Model Citizen, Across Generations, My Community badges; Cadette, Senior, Ambassador Interest Projects – Cadettes, Senior, Ambassador can work towards Generations Hand in Hand Interest Project. Brownies, Juniors, Seniors and Cadettes can work towards the special council patch Celebrate a Tree.
