Lincoln Children’s Zoo

The Lincoln Children’s Zoo is among the nation’s best for kids according to Parents Magazine. It also has received national recognition for the quality of its programs. It is located on 14 acres in mid-town Lincoln, NE and is a great place to learn about the relationships among plants, animals and human beings.

Overnights at the Zoo

From 7 p.m. to 9 a.m. you can stay at the Zoo and participate in animal handling clinics, night hikes, and behind the scenes tours. A snack of pizza and lemonade is served at 9:45 p.m. Donuts and milk are served at 7:30 a.m.

Who: Daisies, Brownies, Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors, Ambassadors, Adults

When: Anytime of year is a good time to spend the night at the Zoo. Participants are encouraged to dress for the weather.

Cost: Minimum $350 / $25 per person. One adult is free for every five youth. A non-refundable $50 deposit is required when scheduling the overnight.

Tours and Behind the Scenes Visits

Any time between April 15th and October 15th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. your group may visit the Zoo and experience a number of guided tours. Tours range from 30 – 90 minutes and are priced accordingly. Advance registration is required. Visit www.lincolnchildrenszoo.org for more information.

Cost: Admission for groups of 10 or more is $3.25 per person. Memberships do not apply. For groups of less than 10, those who are Lincoln Children’s Zoo members get in free, adults pay $6.50, children over 2 pay $5.50, children under 2 are free.

Recognitions: If you have a special animal related topic you’d like to cover during your tour indicate this when you call to make reservations.

Capacity: Groups of less than ten are ideal.

Animal Adoptions

Adopting an animal is a great way to spend cookie money and a fun way to create a special bond with a Zoo animal! For just a few dollars, you can help support the purchase of food, the cost of housing, and veterinary care for a number of our 400 animals.

When: Adoptions are available anytime.

Cost: The adoption package tailored for Scouts is $50. More information is available on the Zoo’s website. Call 402.475.6741 x131 for more adoption information. When visiting for your up close encounter the group will pay the $3.25 group admission rate in addition to the adoption fee.

Where: 1225 South 27th St., Lincoln, NE. Exit Interstate 80 at 27th St. and drive south into mid-town Lincoln. The Zoo is located just south of Capital Parkway and north of A Street on the east side of 27th Street.
