Our pet counselors are dedicated to matching the right pet with the right customer and meeting the needs of both. To our customers who already have pets, we are dedicated to enhancing their knowledge and enjoyment of the human-animal bond.
Petland Girl Scout Tours
Take a safari at Petland! Come explore the world of fur, feathers, and fins with our pet counselors. Learn about various companion pets from the typical puppies and fish to the not so ordinary companion pets like snakes and birds. Develop an understanding of a pet’s four basic needs, and learn how to provide the proper care to the pets in your life.
Who: Open to scouts of all ages
Cost: $5 per scout (donations benefit the InVest in K-9 fundraiser)
Duration: The tour will last approximately 1 hour.
Pet Care Badge Workshop
Learn all about pets and complete the appropriate pet badge at Petland! Learn everything from how to feed your pet a healthy diet to technology used to locate lost or stolen pets.
Who: Juniors
Cost: $10 per scout (donations benefit the InVest in K-9 fundraiser)
Recognitions: Junior Badge – Pet Care
Notes: Participants will need to bring a pencil; all additional supplies provided.
Pets Interest Project Workshop
Learn all about pets and complete the appropriate pet badge at Petland! Learn everything from how to feed your pet a healthy diet to technology used to locate lost or stolen pets.
Who: Cadettes, Seniors, Ambassadors
Cost: $15 per scout (donations benefit the InVest in K-9 fundraiser)
Recognitions: Cadette, Senior, & Ambassador Interest Project – Pets
Notes: Participants will need to bring a pencil; all additional supplies provided. In order to earn this Interst Project, scouts will need to commit to minimal additional time outside of workshop.
Information for All Programs
Where: 12005 W. Center Rd, Suite 90., Omaha. Located next to Bakers in the Westwood Plaza.
Capacity: Maximum of 20 scouts.
When: Events must be scheduled during weekday hours.
Chaperones: Follow Safety-Wise guidelines.
Registration: Troop leaders should contact Corren at omahacr@petland.com or 402.330.4466 (email preferred) at least two weeks in advance. Please put title of activity in subject line of e-mail. To cancel a tour, please call or e-mail at least 48 hours prior to scheduled event.
Notes: Please have troop members wear their official Girl Scout gear. Care guidelines for workshop pets will be provided, but pets themselves will be the scout’s responsibility. If scout does not own a pet, one can be provided for an additional fee. Please contact Corren for more information.

Gain community service hours by volunteering at Petland! Girl Scouts 16+ years of age are encouraged to contact Corren if they are interested in participating in a wide range of volunteer activities, such as dog walking, pet shows, dog washes, and much more.
