Springfield Artworks is a glass and fiber studio overseen by glass artist Glenn Trembley and fiber artist Margie Trembley.

Create a Wet Felted Vessel

Girls will select colorful wool roving and create a great vessel to store their treasures. Vessel can be formed into various shapes.

Create Your Own Fascinator

(the type of hat Brits wore to the “Royal Wedding”)

Choose from feathers and netting or bring your own bling  to attach to a fascinator hat you will create. Some wet felting will be a part of the process as well as hand sewing. Two sessions required.

Who:  Cadettes, Seniors, Ambassadors

Capacity:  Minimum 3. Maximum 5.

Cost:  Vessel ($30), Fascinator ($40)

Felted Soaps

Wool, alpaca and yarn can all be used to  wet felt onto soap.  The process that the girls learn can be repeated over and
over at home or during troop meetings.

Who:  Daisies, Brownies, Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors,
Ambassadors

Capacity:  Minimum 3, Maximum 5.

Cost:  $18, includes supplies

Glass Fusing

The girls will learn many techniques in creating glass art objects. There is a wide array of glass types that can be used that will spike the imagination. Work will be kiln fired.

Who:  Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors, Ambassadors

Cost:  Snowflake Ornament ($12), Fused glass plate, bowl or vase ($28), Pendent ($19), Tile ($14), Drawer

Pull ($16), Dragon Fly ($22), Candle Dish ($35)

Capacity:  Minimum 6, Maximum 12

When:  After-school classes & Saturdays during school year.   No classes in January.

Gallery hours:  Tues-Friday: 1-5pm, Saturday:  11am-4: 30pm.

Where:  Springfield Artworks, 183 Main Street, Springfield, NE

Registration:  Please register at least 2 weeks in advance and call 24 hours before the class with the exact number of participants.

Chaperones:  Follow Safety Activity Checkpoints.
