Stuhr Museum

stuhr

Spend a day on the Prairie where you will learn and play as the pioneers. You can walk the streets of an 1890′s town and visit with the people that ‘live’ there.

Listening to the Past

Join us as we take a look at historic buildings in the Grand Island Area and compare to what is there today. Then play some games that were played as your great-grandparents played, and tour the museum and experience life in our Railroad Town.

Take a trip to the museum where you can research newspapers of days gone by and see if the News has changed over the years. Or, research a variety of subjects or personalities from this area and learn why they should be remembered (for older girls)

Folk Arts

A picture is worth a thousand words… Come to the Research Library at the museum and discover what some of the photos from the turn of the century will tell you. Then spend the rest of the day taking your own photos in Railroad Town for comparison.

Time Travel

What is that??? Take a look up close at some of the oddest items that great grandparents used every day. Our curator will show and explain many household items. Then go on a stroll about Town to see if you can find any of the same tools being used.
