Shoot For the Stars!
Schedule a visit to our unique, all-weather facility to learn about the stars, the planets, and the latest events in astronomy and space sciences.
Astronomy shows for general audiences, specialized astronomy and space exploration lectures, and workshops for both scouts and leaders are available. Most shows and lectures are suitable for a wide range of ages, and some can be tailored to meet specific educational goals or requirements. Presentations include a mix of video, animation and/or still images from many land- and space-based observatories.
Who: Girl Scouts of all ages; leaders and families are welcome and encouraged to participate.
When: Monday through Friday: afternoons or evenings;
Saturday: mornings, afternoons or evenings;
Sunday: afternoons
Where: UNO’s Durham Science Center, 66th and Dodge Streets, Omaha
Cost: Basic planetarium shows start at $3.00 per person; weekday discounts may be available. Call our office at 402.554.2219 for show availability and cost. Or, find us at www.physics.unomaha.edu/planet
Cash, check or purchase order is due the day of the show or presentation.
Register: Call 402.554.2219 to schedule or inquire about our private shows and workshops; ask for a member of the planetarium staff. Show bookings requested at least one week in advance.
