If you have a passion for the great outdoors then we have the place for you! Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska owns and operates six amazing camp properties throughout the state. If you are a Girl Scout, an adult member or someone who loves to commune with nature, you can come to our camps for programs, trainings, a weekend escape from the city, corporate team building or an outdoor adventure that will challenge and inspire.
Hidden Oaks Cabin – Valentine
This hidden jewel located in the Valentine City Park is the ideal place to stay when you’re heading out to the Niobrara River to canoe or tube or explore the many wonders of Nebraska. With a sleeping room for 30, kitchen, showers and heat (big bonus is winter months), this is the perfect destination for your next Girl Scout getaway. Lakeview Cabin – North Platte
Start planning a troop beach party and get ready to grab some rays! At Lakeview Cabin you will have instant access to Lake Maloney, the perfect setting for sand castle building, fishing, canoeing or a summer beach blast! Stay in the lodge (complete with kitchen, showers and sleeping for up to 14) or pitch your tent and gather ‘round the campfire for an unforgettable experience. Camp Cosmopolitan – Grand Island
Tucked along the Platte River outside of Grand Island you will find Camp “Cosmo,” as it is lovingly called. With easy access from the interstate, anyone can enjoy this outdoor gem. Because the terrain is not demanding, Cosmo makes camp life easy. The river runs along the property providing a tranquil setting to explore, fish, wade, and canoe (when there’s enough water). Or maybe you would like to challenge yourself on the high and low ropes, the zip line or the obstacle course. Camp Crossed Arrows – Nickerson
Dense woods, large, open meadows and hills that are perfect for winter sledding, Camp Crossed Arrows has it all. Enjoy breathtaking views when you stay in the Troop House, a cabin in Turf Town or one of many covered wagons. Spend your days hiking, canoeing on the river or testing your skills and determination on the low and high challenge course—complete with a ride on the zip line. Camp Maha – Papillion
Camp Maha is perched above the shores of the Platte River and is perfect for a camping experience full of exploration. Equipped with an Olympic sized swimming pool, a challenge course (with zip line that will whiz you through the forest), an Earth education center, archery and acres of hiking trails, Maha has something for every Girl Scout to enjoy. At night you can rest your head in one of our new cabins, a covered platform tent or slumber while you hang from the trees in one of our jungle hammocks. NEW THIS YEAR! Girl Scout Island
Become one with nature on the recently acquired “Girl Scout Island.” Adjacent to Camp Maha, Girl Scout Island is a 93 acre flood-plain forest and home to the most interesting and unique display of plant and animal life in the region. Programs are currently being planned on the island where no one is ever voted off.
Catron Camp and Retreat Center – Nebraska City
Beside the crystal clear waters of Walnut Creek and near the apple orchards of Nebraska City you will discover Catron Camp and Retreat Center. This gorgeous camp has it all: a newly-built lodge, a craft/nature center, platform tents, a swimming pool, challenge course with a zip line, archery and hiking trails through dense woods. NEW THIS YEAR! Sky Camp
Spend the night high above the ground in one of our new tree houses at Sky Camp. Located at Trails End, Sky Camp is home to eight treehouses that each sleep four, a brand new shower house and a wondrous display of flora and fauna.
